Services
Haslemere’s independent vets
Haslemere Vets offers comprehensive ‘first opinion’ veterinary care for small animals – that’s dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and more!
Separate areas for dogs and cats
To keep everything worry-free for your dogs and cats we have dedicated waiting areas and separate dog, cat and isolation wards so they’re kept as separate from each other as possible.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations play a vital role in protecting pets from serious and potentially life‑threatening diseases. During every vaccination appointment, your pet will also receive a full clinical examination. This allows us to assess their overall health, identify any early signs of illness, and ensure they are fit to receive their vaccines. Our Pet Health Plan can help spread the cost of this routine care.
Surgery
Our practice is equipped with a dedicated surgical theatre and we can perform a variety of routine and emergency surgeries on site, including:
Neutering
Mass removals
Abdominal surgeries
Selected soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures
For more complex surgical needs we can arrange for visiting specialist surgeons to operate at our practice, or we may recommend referral to a specialist hospital depending on the type of procedure required.
We are proud to offer laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, a minimally invasive option associated with reduced pain, smaller incisions, and faster recovery times. Laparoscopy is commonly used for spaying female dogs but can also be used for other procedures. We are happy to discuss whether this option is suitable for your pet.
Estimates for all surgeries will be given prior to the procedure.
Consultations
We provide consultations for all health concerns, from minor issues to more serious conditions.
Same‑day appointments are available for urgent problems. Routine and non‑urgent appointments can be conveniently booked online.
If your pet is experiencing an emergency or you are unsure of the severity of their condition, we encourage you to call the practice so we can advise you immediately.
Medical imaging
Our investment in high-quality radiography and ultrasound equipment means the majority of first opinion imaging (including dental x-rays) can be done right here within the practice.
Dentistry
Oral health is an essential part of your pet’s overall wellbeing. Our dedicated dental suite is equipped with a dental X‑ray machine, allowing us to provide a high standard of veterinary dentistry.
A “dental” is performed under general anaesthesia and allows us to perform a thorough examination of the teeth, scale and polish (cleaning), dental x-rays to assess for any disease occurring below the gumline and extraction of any diseased or damaged teeth.
We will always discuss treatment options and estimates with you beforehand.
Laboratory tests
Our on‑site laboratory enables us to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently, often providing same-day results. This allows for faster diagnosis and treatment, particularly in urgent cases. For more specialised or uncommon tests, samples are sent to an external laboratory.
Nervous pets
We understand that visiting the vet can be stressful for some pets. For animals who may feel anxious around other pets or in busy waiting areas, we are happy for owners to wait in their car until their appointment time.
Please let reception know when you arrive, and a member of our team will come to your car to let you know when we are ready to see you. We will then escort you directly into the consultation room via the back entrance, helping to minimise contact with other pets and create a calmer experience for your pet.

Home visits
We recognise a home visit may be preferrable in certain situations, especially for euthanasia. We will always attempt to accommodate such requests. Due to the small size of our team this may not always be possible though, so we encourage you to call to discuss this with the team.
